Hide AdA spokesperson for Translink said: “The safety of our colleagues, passengers and the wider public is very important to us. In line with the guidance and advice around non-essential travel, we have taken the decision to postpone the arrangements to hold a bus convoy in support for NHS staff and other essential frontline workers this Thursday following a further review.
“Our employees, themselves frontline workers, have been partaking in the weekly Clap for Carers initiative, showing support for other essential workers, including NHS staff as a group when on shift.
The Spokesperson continued: “In addition, they have been involved in a number of initiatives to support the community, for example, collecting and delivering essential supplies for the vulnerable and charities.
“We are also supporting the #ChaseTheRainbow campaign using vehicles, bus shelters, billboards and social media to display uplifting ‘rainbows of hope’ while also promoting important safety advice to stay home and save lives during the COVID-19 crisis”.
