1. DER - VOX POP 09 DECEMBER
Dermod Rooney. Dermond Rooney said: "I do love Christmas now. I was never a singer so I couldn’t always remember the songs. Bing Crosby’s White Christmas, that’s up on top of the list now. It’s a classic. There are a lot of younger singers now singing some old songs these days. White Christmas is hard to beat because it is so sentimental to the time of year, and the rest of the world. It’s worldwide." Photo: George Sweeney. DER2149GS – 031
Cameron Gillespie and Ellie Dazell. Ellie said: "My favourite is When Christmas Comes Around. I really like it and was listening to it just yesterday." Cameron Gillespie said: "I like all the Christmas songs. I have them on every day. I’ve a new playlist made and all." Photo: George Sweeney. DER2149GS – 032
Conor Doherty is a teacher from Carndonagh Community School. He said: "What do you call that Coldplay song? Christmas Lights, that’s my favourite, it’s a modern one now. I like Driving Home for Christmas too." Photo: George Sweeney. DER2149GS – 028
Fionnán MacSwiney from County Cork said: "I’m not really into Christmas at all, no. I’m a Christian and I believe Christmas has Pagan roots. I’m up here today to see the North, and I’m going to the Giant’s Causeway today." Photo: George Sweeney. DER2149GS – 033
