Void Derry hosting virtual workshops for children and adults this Easter period

Derry art gallery Void will tomorrow (Saturday) host online Easter Chick and Pom Pom Chick Workshops for children as part of a raft of virtual activities for both adults ad kids taking place during the lockdown.

Void will also be offering an online art workshop for adults while its Patrick Street Gallery is currently closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson for Void said: “Over the coming weeks, we look forward to bringing you content through our social media channels so stay tuned for virtual tours of our exhibition, ideas to keep the kids occupied, adult workshops, and suggestions for reading material and films inspired by Void’s programme.

WORKS SHOPS FOR CHILDREN:

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 11th Void will be running two Easter-themed workshops:

1) Easter Chick Workshop with Sinead Crumlish will take place at 11am. Tune into Void Derry’s Facebook, Instagram, IGTV and our YouTube channel for the publication of this video, where little ones will learn how to make an Easter Chick out of everyday materials.

2) Pom Pom Chick Workshop with Karen Cassidy LIVE at 4:30pm. Family activities continue with a live family workshop with Karen Cassidy, making your own Pom Pom Chick decoration.

3) Next Thursday April 16th meanwhile, Karen Cassidy will also host a Bubble Workshop at 11am on Facebook, Instagram, IGTV and the YouTube channel.

WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS:

1) Drawing Workshop With Stephanie Gaumond Saturday 18th April, 3pm. “We have our first online Drawing session with Stephanie Gaumond. This introduction to drawing in One Point Perspective for beginners begins with an explanation of one point perspective using an image from Ima-Abasi Okon’s exhibition at Void, followed by how to draw a room utilising one point perspective. Tune in to Facebook, Instagram IGTV and our YouTube channel to take part.
