Derry councillors call for accelerated development of Templemore Sports Complex

At its monthly meeting for May this evening members of Derry City and Strabane District Council also agreed that the Riverdale Leisure Centre in Strabane should be redeveloped as soon as possible.

Councillors backed a motion, stating: "Derry City and Strabane District Council notes the public disappointment at the lack of progress to date to advance the construction and re-development of Templemore Sports Complex and Riversdale Leisure Centre.

"This motion calls on Council to accelerate the development process of these long outstanding projects by bringing forward a report to the relevant committee in September to include the identification of all funding options available and a timetable towards completion so that the Council can consider its options."
