Derry man Councillor Gerry McMonagle selected with Sandra Haughey as Sinn Fein candidates for Letterkenny

At a well attended convention in Dillons Hotel, the Sinn Féin delegates selected Colr McMonagle and Ms Haughey.
Padraig Mac Lochainn TD opened the convention and outlined how a strong Sinn Féin team in Donegal County Council would start the process of ‘people first’ in Donegal.

Hide AdThe Party Spokesperson on Fisheries and the Marine also praised the long standing hard work of Colr McMonagle and his commitment to the people of Letterkenny, while highlighting the trojan work done by Sandra Haughey in her community.
In his acceptance speech, Colr McMonagle said: "I am very proud and incredibly honoured to be selected by Sinn Féin once again to be their standard bearer in Letterkenny.
"I have worked tirelessly these last twenty years for the people of Letterkenny and I am extremely proud of this community and what it has achieved.
"My main aim will be to continue to build on the success of the past. We will need strong public representatives who will represent the growing needs of Letterkenny. I firmly believe with the experience and can do attitude I possess I can deliver on those needs.

Hide Ad"We must address our Housing, Health and infrastructure deficits. Issues that I have been campaigning on since being elected.
"I make one promise here tonight and that is to continue to work on behalf of the people of Letterkenny and to bring your concerns to the table where they need to be heard, be that at National or Local level."
Accepting her nomination, Sandra Haughey said she was honoured and that it was a privilege to have been nominated by her local Cumann, Gallagher/Mc Fadden/Ashe.
She said that she was looking forward to continuing her work within the community and bringing the concerns and issues of the people of the area to the forefront of the political narrative in the Council.
