PSNI dealing with a number of road accidents in Derry due to 'treacherous conditions'

A number of road accidents have occurred in Derry this New Year's Eve as a result of the treacherous driving conditions.

People are being asked to reduce their speed.

The PSNI said: "We are currently dealing with a number of road traffic collisions on the Clooney Carriageway which is particularly treacherous as a result of the poor weather. Please slow down and drive to suit the conditions."

Traffic Watch NI, the Department for Infrastructure traffic management service, warned: "Please take care when driving on the roads this morning. With snow and ice forming overnight, dangerous driving conditions have been reported across Northern Ireland this morning.".
