SDLP: Lower Culmore remains in the dark over street lighting

Cllr Cusack said: “We have been consistently contacted by residents of Kingsfort, Ardnarea, Lisnarea and surrounding streets who have been experiencing large and continuous light outings since the beginning of February.

“This issue was processed through to NIE emergency response a number of times by Transport Ni and I have personally reported the issue in various streets over five times.

“It would appear that despite receiving continuous attention the problem is still occurring which is extremely frustrating for the residents of the area, a large percentage of which are elderly or live alone.

“I will continue to press NIE to get an immediate and permanent solution to this issue and apply whatever resources they can to dealing with the problem as we cannot be putting residents safety and security at risk.”
