Shock and sadness over Derry farm death

The Health and Safety Executive are investigating.

The incident occurred on Monday in Coshquin,

A spokesperson for the HSE said: “HSENI is aware of the incident on a farm on the Coshquin Road, Londonderry [on Monday] and is making enquires. Our thoughts are with the deceased’s family at this tragic time.”

Police confirmed it attended the scene of the sudden death shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday, June 8.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and Health and Safety Executive have been informed.

Sinn Féin MLA Martina Anderson said the local community has been shocked and saddened by the tragic death.

The Foyle MLA said: “The local community were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of a man on a farm at Coshquin on the outskirts of Derry.

“An investigation into the cause of the man’s death is now underway.

“My thoughts are with the family, friends and loved ones of the man who lost his life at this sad and difficult time.”
