The Strand Road is partially closed at the PSNI barracks as police investigate a car fire close to the station.

The PSNI said: "Strand Road remains closed at present after a car fire close to the police station. The circumstances of the incident are currently subject to investigation. Diversions are in place."

The City Centre Initiative (CCI) urged people to avoid the area.

"Due to an ongoing incident, Strand Road is closed to vehicular access between the junctions of Lawrence Hill and Bayview Terrace (Asylum Road).

"Motorists are advised to find an alternative route. Access to North West Regional College is unaffected," said the CCI.
