Described by her mum Jenny, dad Michael and sister Cora as a “sweet little princess”, Merryn touched the hearts of many people including former Republic of Ireland international, Roy Keane and Irish Hollywood actor, Colin Farrell.
After her diagnosis, Merryn’s parents set-up the Merryn Lacy Trust to make sure their little daughter received the best possible treatment.
Merryn’s parents requested people attending their daughter’s funeral to wear whatever they liked because Merryn “loved colours and loved clothes”.

“This song we played to her when she was a baby in the pram to get her to sleep. It’s only now we see it’s a song about saying goodbye. This is what played as we said goodbye yesterday - meet you on the other side our inspirational little girl. Love you Merryn, x,” read the message.
