Three more admissions to Altnagelvin with 0.30% capacity left in system

Two men - one aged 20-39 and another aged in his sixties - and a woman in her fifties were admitted to the Derry hospital on Tuesday.

At midnight on Tuesday 42 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across Western Trust hospitals.

Six of 15 (40%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; four (26.67%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and five (33.33%) were free.

Eight ICU patients in total were being ventilated - four were COVID-19 patients and four non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 8.28% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 86.09% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 0.30% capacity left in the system: 5.33% were ‘awaiting admission.’
