The proprietor said it was a decision that was not taken lightly at what is normally one of its busy periods of the year.

"Due to the ongoing health crisis and the valiant efforts of health staff to combat the spread of the coronavirus we have decided that Peadar's, the Gweedore and 57 will close at midnight on Sunday, March 15 until further notice.

"This decision was not taken lightly as this is our busiest time of year and is a big contributor to our viability as a going concern.

"However the health of the general population is paramount and we do not want to put the health of our staff, musicians and patrons and their relatives' health at risk at this time of global emergency," the owners stated.
