Vandals target community garden project
Sinn Féin Councillor Kevin Campbell has slammed vandals who targeted a polytunnel and allotments at a community project based at Tar Abhaile at Westend Park.
Councillor Campbell said: “The polytunnel and allotments at Tar Abhaile at Westend Park were badly damaged on Friday night. This is not the first attack on this particular project, it was badly damaged twice before earlier this year.
“This is a community project enjoyed by people living in the locality providing them the space to come together to grow fruit and vegetables and also build relationships. Yet a very small group of disengaged young people in our community think it is fine to destroy it. Shame on them.
