Video: McCartney describes tomorrow's poll as another step on 40 year struggle for justice and equality

Sinn Féin Assembly election candidate for Foyle, Raymond McCartney, has urged supporters to continue 40 years of struggle tomorrow by coming out to vote for 'justice, equality and respect'.

The former hunger striker called on supporters to ensure he and running mate Elisha McCallion are returned as MLAs for the constituency on Thursday.

“We brought down the Assembly around the issues of justice, equality, respect and dignity, that’s what we go forward on, that’s what we were asking people to do,” said Mr. McCartney.

He appealed: “On March 2, remember all those days, from the civil rights movement, from the Battle of the Bogside, internment, Bloody Sunday, the hunger strike, our electoral successes, Martin’s image as he collapsed the Assembly, that we can combine together to give Sinn Féin the most powerful vote ever on March 2.”
