The Met Office has issued a yellow status thunderstorm weather warning for all of Northern Ireland.

The weather warning was issued on Wednesday morning and will be active from 4.00pm on Thursday and 9.00am on Friday.

"Thunderstorms may develop across parts of western UK late on Thursday afternoon and into the evening," reads the warning on the Met Office website.

"A larger area of thunderstorms is then expected to move northeastwards overnight into Friday.

"Many places will miss the worst of the storms but where they do occur torrential downpours could bring 30-40 mm rain in less than two hours.
