The Met Office has issued a Yellow Status Snow and Ice Warning for Derry, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone from 12pm today, Tuesday, January 17 until 12pm Wednesday, January 18.

They said that ‘snow showers and icy stretches may cause some disruption’.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow snow/ice warning for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, valid from 9.28am on Tuesday until 9am on Wednesday,

They said that snow showers will lead to some accumulations.

Met Eireann added: “Staying cold until later Thursday with an Arctic airflow in across the country, bringing sharp to severe frosts and icy stretches on roads and footpaths. Some showers of hail, sleet and snow are expected with the potential for freezing fog. Further updates to the advisory and warnings are expected in the coming days.”
