VIDEO: Ulster University isn’t just a place of learning – it’s part of Derry’s heartbeat
Ulster University’s partnership with the Derry Kumon Maths Fest has brought new focus and support to young children across the region, helping them embrace and enjoy maths.
Sumeeta Gupta, head of Kumon Maths Fest says: “It’s great to have Ulster University on board because it does provide us with a platform to be able to make this event more successful and accessible to all.
“We have seen the children today really have a great time, meet new friends and get to enjoy maths outside the classroom. In essence that is what today is about - the children are developing core skills in terms of education, in terms of relationship building, and problem solving, all whilst having fun with maths. Thanks to Ulster University and the Department for Economy for making this possible.”
The maths fest was a huge success with the young children and teachers alike.
The support underpins the range of activities and initiatives Ulster University and The Department for Economy are helping to deliver across the region.
