Known for their outrageous outfits and eccentric, off-the-wall behaviour in the lead-up to their respective fights, the Pete Taylor stablemates arrived late for their media duties.

When they finally made their entrance, they made their way to the top table dressed in bright blue and orange tuxedo suits and proceeded to stage a wand fight before calmly taking their seats.

McCullagh, dressed as Lloyd Christmas from the 1994 hit comedy and McKenna as Harry Dunne, certainly took those in attendance by surprise with their impromptu battle.

Derry southpaw, McCullagh, who fights British featherweight champion, Ryan Walsh in the Sky Sports televised semi-finals at York Hall on Friday night, also caught the eye at the Golden Contract draw on Tuesday afternoon dressed in a dinosaur suit.

The Glen Road native hit the headlines with his bizarre entrance in the quarter-finals as he was wore panda shorts and was followed into the ring by McKenna who was disguised as a giant red panda.

That of course was to raise awareness for the plight of the endangered red pandas worldwide but it doubled up as a pretty memorable ring walk.

This time McCullagh has ditched the pandas and has turned his attention to 'taking up the plight of the dinosaur', he said with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

"The pandas' official status has changed from endangered to vulnerable," said McCullagh. "And that is all down to me. I've rescued the pandas and I'm now taking up the plight of the dinosaur," he said as his good friend, McKenna poured a glass of water into his top hat before placing it back on his head.

"I don't know the exact figures but the last dinosaur census wasn't great. So if you want to sponsor a dinosaur I'll give you my paypal."

When the talk got down to the nitty gritty of Friday night's fight, McCullagh, who goes in as an underdog against Walsh, said he believes all the pressure is on the Norfolk fighter.

"I respect Ryan Walsh as a fighter. He's achieved great things in his career so far, but I believe all of the pressure is on him. He is the tournament favourite and picked me. He's had more than double my fights, so I've got nothing to lose."

Belfast's, McKenna, who fights French man, Mohamed Mimoune in the super-lightweight semi-finals on the same night, said he was intent on revenge for Thierry Henry's infamous handball which denied Republic of Ireland a place at the 2010 World Cup.

"Mimoune is a great guy and I like him as a person, but Ireland doesn't forget," he said. "Thierry Henry robbed us of the World Cup, he cheated us, and I'm here for revenge. Ireland is getting revenge on Friday and I'm getting that beautiful WBC Silver title."

There was plenty of other drama during the press conference with fighters pulled apart and heated words exchanged.

Following Tuesday's draw, Walsh faces McCullagh, Leigh Wood takes on Jazza Dickens, Ohara Davies fights Jeff Ofori and Mohamed Mimoune goes up against McKenna.

The press conference proved to be extremely lively, with Jazza Dickens and Leigh Wood pulled apart during their face-off, while the ever-reliable 'two Tyrones' entertained the audience.
