Derry sporting faces 20 years on - Do you recognise anyone?

TWENTY years ago in February 2001 the Derry sporting scene was in full flight and the 'Journal' photographers were on hand to capture some memorable moments.

A youthful Stephen Kenny led his Longford Town team to Brandywell Stadium where they played out a scoreless draw while in boxing, John Duddy and Paul McCloskey were crowned Ulster Senior champions at the Ulster Hall.

The Derry Masters Gala took place at the City Baths while North West rivals Sparta and Finn Valley shared the team honours at the Ulster Senior Veterans' Cross Country Championships in Stranorlar.

In Gaelic Football, a magnificent performance from Anthony Tohill helped Derry end Sligo's unbeaten start to the Allianz National Football League with a 1-14 to 1-10 victory at Celtic Park.
