DARTS: Cosh extend lead at top of Friday Night Darts league table

Martin McCloskey hit 14 and 16 ‘darters’ as well as a 180 on his way to a 2-0 victory over Oak captain, Donal Kelly. Fairview went down 11-4 against the Carraig in a match that saw Terry O’Kane hit nine 100-plus scores for the home team while G. Carlin hit a 16 ‘darter’ that included a 180 against Phil Oakes. The unfortunate George’s lost by a single point at home to Mary Bs with J. P. McElhinney hitting two 19 dart legs and team mate Ciaran McNally a 18 dart leg against Jackie Gurney, Mary Bs new signing. Gary Kelly also hit a 19 darter against Jason Dowds.

Elsewhere, Mailey’s defeated six men Phoenix with Sean Gallagher’s 18 dart check-out the highlight alongside team mate Sean Wilson who scored with an 18 ‘darter’ and a 118 check-out. Phoenix’s Michael Wallace was the pick of the away team with 15 and 16 dart legs, a 106 check-out and nine 100 plus scores making him this week’s top scorer.

The draw for the Jackie Doherty Cup took place on Monday and the venues will be Phoenix, George’s, Carraig and Mailey’s. Full draw next week.
