17 fabulous pictures as Derry & District Youth FA celebrate landmark year at 2026 awards night

With such a large and growing membership, the Association is hosting three consecutive award nights, starting with Boys 11-a-side teams in the U12-U17 age groups. Players, coaches, and families from across the league’s clubs came together to recognise the achievements of a hugely successful 2025 season.

There were around 150 people in attendance to mark the occasion with a fantastic representation from the various D&D youth clubs.

“Seeing our teams excel on and off the pitch, and the dedication of our players, coaches, and families, is what makes this league so special,” said Diolain Ward, Association Secretary.

Special guests included the Deputy Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Niree McNorris, and Stephen McKendry of Your Physio, a proud sponsor. The celebrations continue next week with the Mini Soccer Boys awards, followed by the Girls section the following Friday, reflecting the talent, commitment, and community spirit at the heart of the Derry & District Youth Football Association.

Photographer Jim McCafferty was present at the ceremony to take these award winning photographs.
