COMMENT: Sam Allardyce's fall from grace a toxic affair
Here is a man, who, against all odds, landed the job he coveted all his managerial life.
His salary was three million - yes THREE MILLION - quid a year plus Gawd knows how much else in bonuses, sponsorships, expenses, and a whole range of other extras.

There cannot be even a shred of sympathy for him.
But that is certainly not to justify the action of the ‘Daily Telegraph’ or the ‘journalists’ who operated the sting.
Imagine getting up in the morning and your first thought is to figure out which unsuspecting ‘mark’ you can set up for a fall from grace today.
In essence they actually create the offence and then ride in on their white chargers to “solve” it.
Woodward and Bernstein they ain’t.
As a matter of fact THEY should be charged with planning it! All in all, none of the parties involved come out of this toxic affair with even a vestige of decency.
Not unlike the modern game itself.
