The 30-year-old, who remains under contract for the 2021 season, is believed to have attracted attention from Dublin duo, St Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne, and First Division side, Galway United.

Mr. Barrett said the club is aware of interest in the midfielder and revealed the Brandywell men will reluctantly listen to offers for the midfielder.

“Conor is a quality player but we’ll reluctantly listen to offers for him,” stated Mr. Barrett.

With McCormack having worked with new Galway manager, John Caulfield, during a trophy laden spell at Cork City from 2017 to 2019, ‘The Tribesmen’ are likely to be tussling with the ‘Saints’ and Shels for his signature.

McCormack, who was appointed Derry skipper after returning for a second spell with the club last season, was one of the first names on Declan Devine’s team-sheet in 2020 but has become unsettled and a move away looks increasingly likely if any club matches City’s valuation of the player.

Meanwhile, talks with Sheffield United have continued as Derry attempt to bring David Parkhouse back to the Brandywell on a long term deal.

That deal remains at the ‘hopeful’ stage but confirmed yesterday as remaining at Brandywell were Darren Cole, Cameron McJannet and James Akintunde after all re-signed for next season.

And there was further good news as highly rated young defender, Ronan Boyce, signed his first professional contract, the 19-year-old centre-back agreeing a two year deal.

The club also announced that assistant manager Kevin Deery and first team coach Marty McCann have both left Devine's back-room team.

Confirming the news on Monday in a statement saying: "the Board would also like to put on record our thanks to Kevin Deery and Martin McCann who have now left the club.

"We are grateful to both men for their hard work over the past couple of seasons and we wish them well for the future."
