Derry City announce free streaming of League of Ireland matches for season ticket holders

Following a meeting with the FAI today where plans for the matchday streaming platform were confirmed, the Brandywell club issued a statement to inform season ticket holders they will receive free access to all 'behind closed doors' games for the remainder of the 2020 season.

In a statement released this evening, the club said the move was made 'in recognition of the continuing support and loyalty of season ticket holders'.

"The subscription fees for the service will be paid for by the Club," read the statement.

"The streaming facility means that season ticket holders will be able to watch City’s home and away matches for the rest of the season as well as other Premier Division games.

"Each season ticket holder will be provided with a code that will allow free access to the service.

"Fans who are not season ticket holders will also have access to the service but only through the normal commercial and financial procedures.

"Presently, matches in the Brandywell will be played behind closed doors. If government guidance changes at any time during the season, the Club will advise supporters.

"The Club believes that the decision to pay for this service is a proper recognition of the continuing support and loyalty of season ticket holders.

"In these difficult and uncertain times, it is even more important that Derry City F.C. continues to be a source of enjoyment and pride for the people of the city and region.

"For that to be assured, it is important that the Club retains the loyalty of its core support while making efforts to grow the support base that is essential to sustain a professional football club."
