The Candystripes produced a super display to secure a 2-0 victory at Dalymount Park.

Goals in either half from Harry Monaghan and Nathan Boyle were enough to see Kenny Shiels’ side progress to the last eight.

Derry went close to taking the lead in the 17th minute when Ronan Curtis did well inside the box but his effort from the right hand side of the box was superbly kept out by Dean Delany.

The woodwork came to Derry’s rescue when Derek Pender’s cross found Quigley but his close range shot came back off the bar.

Derrybroke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Conor McCormack’s right wing free-kick was flicked towards goal by Niclas Vemmelund and Monaghan was on the spot to flick home the loose ball.

Derry added a second early in the second half as Lukas Schubert’s clever pass into Boyle and his super first touch got him away from Dan Byrne, before his low drive took a deflection off Delany before finding the net.

In the closing minutes Bohs were denied by the woodwork for a second time as Paddy Kavanagh’s close range strike came back off the post.
