DERRY CITY: Kenny Shiels building towards future as Barry McNamee signs new deal
The Ramelton man today signed a one year extension to his contract which will keep him at the Brandywell club until the end of the 2017 season.
And Shiels was delighted McNamee, who has scored three goals this term, has accepted a new deal as he continues to ‘build a stable foundation for the future’.

“We’ll be talking to the other lads in the coming weeks and Barry is the first one so it’s great to have him over the line and we’ll be speaking to the others after the Longford game.
“The building blocks have to be in place and that’s what we’re trying to do to build a stable foundation for the future and for next season.
“I think next season will be a massive season and we need to have the right sort of people here and I think keeping the young lads is key.”
