The Brandywell men were believed to be in talks with the FAI yesterday trying to get clearance to face Neil Lennon's side at Parkhead on Saturday, however they failed in their attempts and the proposed encounter was postponed.

It's thought because Declan Devine's side are scheduled to travel to Dublin to face St Patrick's Athletic on Monday August 3rd - some nine days after the proposed Parkhead friendly - was the reason why they were unable to make the trip to Scotland.

City are now thought to be trying to organise, at short notice, a behind closed doors friendly this weekend at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
