Derry City return to collective training for first time in three months

DERRY CITY Football Club returned to collective training this morning at Aileach Football Club, Burnfoot for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown almost three months ago.

Under the supervision of the club's Covid-19 designated officer, Mr Danny Meenan, Derry players underwent testing before resuming non contact, small group training.

Following approval from the Football Association of Ireland and the Irish Government, the four European qualified SSE Airtricity League teams resumed collective training for the first time since March when the association announced the cessation of all football under their jurisdiction upon directives from the Irish Government, the Department of Health and UEFA, due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic
