The FAI had planned to honour the achievement 25 years on at Sunday's FAI Cup Final between Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers at the Aviva Stadium, but those plans have been put on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Felix Healy and his 1995 cup winning heroes will now have to wait until next season's decider before they receive recognition of that memorable win.
Healy became the first person to manage and play for a City cup winning side but the City boss had been 'numbed' by his side's failure to lift the league title two weeks' previously, however, they claimed some cup compensation at Lansdowne Road on May 7th in front of over 8,000 supporters.
