It was a frustrating end to the match as Lee Desmond poked the ball home from a corner kick at the near post, particularly given Derry had chances to wrap up the victory during 90 minutes where they weren't at their free-flowing best. Losing star man Michael Duffy in the pre-match warm-up and stand-in skipper Cameron McJannet just before the half-time interval certainly didn't help the visitors but taking a point from Inchicore considering the hand he was dealt, Ruaidhri Higgins will be quietly pleased with the outcome. Overall, it was a decent performance but how did the players rate out of ten?
Player ratings scale - 10: One of the best performances you've seen. 9: Outstanding. 8: Very good. 7: Good. 6: Average. 5: Poor, 4: Very poor. 3: A terrible day at the office. 2: Abysmal. 1: One of the worst performances you've seen.
5. Cameron McJannet - 6
Made several driving runs forward and into the box from the left flank during the early stages of the first half and his delivery was good but struggled in the left back position at times. Perhaps his troublesome hamstring injury was to blame and it was the reason for his withdrawal before the interval. Photo: George Sweeney
6. Ryan Graydon - 6
The Dubliner is full of passion and attacking intent on the right wing and he was causing problems for the Pats defence. He really should've opened the scoring on 27 minutes when O'Reilly found him with a beautifully paced pass to send him one-on-one with the keeper but David Odumosu came out on top with a brave save. 7. Adam O'Reilly - 7
The former Preston midfielder got dog's abuse from the home support who were reeling from his decision to snub a return to Inchicore in favour of a move to Derry. Dealt with the pressure well and produced an typically energetic and robust display in the middle of the park. Superb at breaking up the play and his exceptional run past two Saints defenders on the right wing should've resulted in more but showed he's got everything in his locker. Ran out of steam in the second half. Photo: Kevin Moore
8. Will Patching - 6
Playing in a more defensive role than last week, the former Man City youth didn't have the same impact on the top end of the pitch that he had against Shamrock Rovers in the President's Cup. Charged forward on a couple of occasions but was largely frustrated and forced back in the second period. Photo: George Sweeney
