Park Bar to strengthen title credentials on Sunday

Park Bar currently hold a significant four point lead at the top and should results go their way this weekend, they could have one strong hand on the 2016 trophy at this early stage.

Elsewhere, title hopefuls Top of the Hill Celtic will know they can’t afford to slip further behind Park when they host Brandywell Harps.

And in two bottom six clashes, Oxford take on Culmore while Tristar meet Don Bosco’s.

Meanwhile in the Devlin Motors McAlinden Cup quarter-final Phoenix face Lisahally.

All games kick-off at 11.30 a.m. with the exception of Tristar v Don Bosco’s which is scheduled for the earlier time of 11 a.m.

Park Bar v Campbell’s

A victory on Sunday for Colm Cassiday’s Park side will see them take a massive step towards the title. They currently have a four point lead at the top.

Darren McCready has scored three vital goals in their last two games and he could be a key player here.

Campbell’s have had a superb season so far and at present Kevin McGinley’s team sit in fourth place. In the corresponding game last season they lost heavily to Park but they have improved a lot since that defeat.

Park to win.

Top of the Hill Celtic v Brandywell Harps

If Celtic fail to defeat Harps in this clash and Park beat Campbell’s, the Waterside men could all but say goodbye to their title chances as it would put them a massive eight points behind.

Colm Logue’s side qualified for a Cup semi-final slot last week but were far from impressive.

Harps still believe they can catch the leaders but that looks unlikely as they sit nine points behind them.

Liam Deery continues to build the team and has stood by his young squad so far.

Celtic to win.

Oxford Stars v Culmore

(Central)

Oxford currently sit joint top of the bottom six section as the league splits into two sections so Philip Devlin will be hoping to kick-off from this good position.

Last Sunday they conceded five goals so that must be a concern for them. First time around Donal Dorrian’s young Culmore side were unlucky to lose to Oxford and will be hoping to put the record straight on Sunday.

Oxford to win.

Tristar v Don Bosco’s

(St Columb’s No. 2)

Tristar put up a great display last Sunday in a cup tie defeat at the hands of an experienced Top of the Hill side. Chris McGarrigle knows if they can produce

a similar display on Sunday they should get the win.

Bosco’s beat Tristar 6-3 back in September in one of the games of the season and will be confident of completing the double over them.

Caoimhin Bonner has seen his young side improve with each game this term.

McAlinden Cup quarter-final

Phoenix v Lisahally

These two sides are bidding to make it through to the last four for the first time in quite a while. The league game between them ended all square and this is sure to be another tight game. Christy McGeehan’s side are going through a poor run at present while Lisahally have won their last two games.
