Tiernan Lynch has left Derry City FC with Mark Connolly appointed on interim basis
Tiernan Lynch has left Derry City FC after less than two years in charge at the Brandywell.
The club said it would like to place on record its ‘sincere thanks to Tiernan for his professionalism, commitment and hard work during his time at Derry City’.
Former Derry City centre-back and current Director of Football Mark Connolly will assume responsibility for first team affairs on an interim basis.
Lynch was appointed to the helm at Derry on a three year contract in November 2024.

The New Lodge-native had previously enjoyed a successful stint with Larne lifting two Irish League titles with the East Antrim club.
After finishing second to Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland last season, Lynch has presided over a disappointing 2026 campaign with the Foylesiders just five points off the relegation play-off spot and ten games left to play.
His tenure at the Brandywell was marked by significant churn in playing personnel.
