League of Ireland clubs are currently analysing the financial impact of playing games behind closed doors as the FAI attempts to find a way to resume the 2020 campaign amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The FAI’s deputy chief executive, Niall Quinn recently talked up the prospect of generating revenue for cash-strapped clubs through live streaming of games both home and away should the league resume as planned on June 19th.

Teams in both the Premier and First Divisions haven’t kicked a ball since sport was suspended on March 12th in line with Government guidelines amid the coronavirus outbreak. However, the behind closed door options appears to be one way as the FAI bid to rescue the season.

As clubs investigate whether or not that is a feasible option in the coming days, we are asking Derry Journal readers if they would be prepared to pay a subscription fee or one-off fee for live streaming of games.
