In the first semi-final, I fancy ‘Hather Eve’ to win. The January ‘13 bitch finished fourth last week but she ran from a very unfavourable trap five in that race. ‘Hather Eve’ is a confirmed ‘railer’ and from trap two tomorrow night, I would expect her to lead. If doing so, she should win for her in-form Derry based owner/trainer, Siobhan Duffy.

The second ‘semi’ looks a very open race and a case can be made for most of the runners. However I fancy ‘Nosey Meg’ from trap four to win. This May ‘13 bitch has been favourite in its last few races at the track and although she lost out, she showed good pace in those races after not breaking well. If she can break on terms tomorrow night I think she would have a great chance of winning for her Coalisland based owner, Kieran McCann.

There will be live racing from Shelbourne Park on the track’s televisions with the first round heat of the Easter Cup. In this competition, ‘Ballydoyle Honey’, trained by Graham Holland, looks the one to be on. She is, without doubt, one of the best greyhounds to ever grace the Shelbourne track and it will be the shock if she does not win her heat. The first race at Lifford is at 7.50pm.

Rahyvira Joker best bet at Brandywell

There will be a good card of racing at Brandywell on Monday night where the final of the Lotto Sprint will be the main race on the card.

In the two semi-finals last week at the track, the first was won by ‘Ursumcraichi’ owned by Brian Gallagher in a time of 17.58. The second semi-final was won by ‘Rahyvira Joker’ who landed a gamble in a time of 17.00 for owner Kevin O’Kane. It’s difficult to oppose ‘Rahyvira Joker’ on that on semi-final form and he is the selection to win the final for the local owner.

There where no winners of the track lotto last Monday. The numbers drawn where 3, 5 and 29 and Monday night’s jackpot now stands at £3,050. Tickets can be bought at the track before the first race at 8pm.
