The Playhouse is transporting the Millennium Forum back to the romantic era of MGM Hollywood on Valentine's weekend with '˜An Evening with Doris Day and Gordon MacRae'!

Starring Alex Sharpe and Karl McGuckin as Hollywood’s golden couple, Doris Day and Gordon MacRae will reunite on stage to tell the story of their lives on Friday, February 12th.

The charming and romantic piece of musical theatre is written and directed by Playhouse producer, Kieran Griffiths, will feature all the classics of Hollywood, including ‘By The Light of The Silvery Moon’, ‘When I Fall In Love’, and of course, not forgetting ‘Que Sera Sera’.

Doris Day will be played by star of musical theatre, Alex Sharpe and the role of Gordon MacRae will be performed by the beautiful bass baritone voice of Karl McGuckin.

Famous stage couple Doris Day and Gordon MacRae appeared together in five different films. Their on-screen pairing came when movie musicals hit the peak of their popularity in the fifties.

“Doris Day held a highly esteemed and very lofty position within her industry and it’s so easy to see why!

In her work with Gordon there was really a genuine warmth and believability,” said Pauline Ross .

The Playhouse production of ‘An Evening with Doris Day and Gordon MacRae’ by Kieran Griffiths will come to the Millennium Forum for one night only on Friday, February12th at 8pm.
