Changes to Council services during August Bank Holiday

Derry City and Strabane District Council have confirmed a small number of changes to council services during the Bank Holiday on Monday, August 29.

Most council services will continue to operate as normal, including refuse collections and recycling centres.

Council leisure centres will also be open on Monday, as well as the Guildhall and Tower Museum.

Cemeteries across the City and District will operate on their normal opening hours too.

Both the Strand Road and Derry Road Council offices will be closed to the public on Monday, August 29 and will reopen as normal on Tuesday, August 30. The Alley Theatre will be closed on Monday also.

Additionally, the District Registration Offices in Derry and Strabane will be closed for the Bank Holiday on Monday, August 29.

There is provision on the holidays for emergency death registration should family need to register their loved one urgently. The local Funeral Directors have the out of office mobile number to make contact with the Registrar so that arrangements can be made for the death registration.
