NWRC accountancy student in top 10 nationally after exam results
Over 4500 students across the island of Ireland sat the Certificate for Accounting Technicians Exams in May, and Jude McLaughlin, who is studying at the Strand Road Campus, achieved the tenth best grades in the assessment.
The HLA in Accounting is designed to prepare participants for a career as an Accounting Technician.

Hide AdJude has not only achieved this academic success, but has also secured a two year contract as a trainee Accounting Technician with McDaid McCullough Moore Accountants in Clarendon Street, as part of his Apprenticeship.
Through the programme, Jude attends college one day per week, and works in the Accountancy practice four days per week, applying the skills and theory he is acquiring from the expert lecturers at the College.
Having just completed his first year, with such astounding success, Jude is now on course to achieve the Diploma at the end of this academic year.
Anne-Marie Deehan, Co-ordinator of Higher Level Apprenticeship in Accounting, congratulated Jude on his success. She said: “We are delighted that Jude’s hard work this year has paid off. Jude has approached the apprenticeship with enthusiasm and a high level of commitment.

“To achieve tenth place in Ireland in these exams is a tremendous achievement and something that we at NWRC are very proud of.
“ Jude has proven that it is possible to successfully combine work and college, something that underpins the whole Higher Level Apprenticeship programme.”
Jude said: “I was really pleased to have done so well in my exams. I was determined to work hard and do well.
“I am glad to say that all the hard work was worth it.
“I am really enjoying the Higher Level Apprenticeship and working as a trainee accounting technician.
“My employers and the lecturers in college are very supportive and this really helps.”
