Spiders, snakes and making your own rocket - Science Trail at the Playtrail in Derry this weekend

The Northern Ireland Science Festival will host a Science Trail in The Playtrail in Derry this Sunday, February 23.

The event in the Belmont area gets under way at 1:00pm and runs until 3:00pm. Admission is £3 and it is suitable for all ages.

This will be the closing event of the North West element of the NI Science Festival.

Organisers from the festival, who are running it conjunction with The Playtrail, have promised a fun filled day for all the family with lots of workshop, demos, activities and shows at the Playtrail.

Some activities will be outside, so people are advised to wrap up warm and prepare for all elements.

The event will include: the Science of Circus

• Make your own Rocket with Duff Balloons

Spiders, snakes and birds with Mantella

• Face & Body painting demos

• Become a Mini Professor

• Muddy Boots - volcanoes, balloon races, elephant toothpaste, geocache, tea in the park

• The Science of Sound, drumming circle

• The Science of Coffee
