Altnagelvin has 3.63% capacity to spare while total COVID-19 occupancy at Derry hospital is just 2.42%

At midnight on Thursday 21 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Three of 10 (30%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (50%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and two (20%) were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - two were COVID-19 patient and four were non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 2.42% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 9.33% were ‘other occupied’ and there was 3.63% capacity left in the system; 3.63 % were ‘awaiting admission.’
