COVID-19 rate falls on cityside but rises slightly in Waterside

The prevalence of coronavirus remains below 100 cases per 100,000 on the cityside of Derry but is still slightly higher in the Waterside.

Between February 1 and February 7 there were 43 SARS-CoV-2 cases on the cityside (BT48) giving a rate per 100,000 of 70.7. This was down from a figure of 85.4 per 100,000 for the January 25 to January 31 period that was recorded last Monday.

In the BT47 postal area which covers the Waterside and the north Derry countryside as far as Dungiven there were 72 positive tests over the same weekly period giving a rate per 100,000 of 116.4 which was an increase on the equivalent figure of 108.3 reported last week.

In Strabane (BT82) there were 39 cases giving a prevalence rate of 145 per 100,000, down from 81.8 last week. In the Castlederg area (BT81) the case rate was 25.3 per 100,000 with two cases registered during the week, half the rate of 50.7 per 100,000 figure that was posted last week.
