Derry COVID-19 case rate unchanged at 72.3 cases per 100,000

The seven-day coronavirus rate in Derry and Strabane is unchanged at 72.3 cases per 100,000 people and still fifth lowest in the north.

Between February 17 and February 23, there were 109 confirmed positive cases of the virus in the district giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 72.3, the same as yesterday.

Derry/Strabane is still recording the fifth lowest coronavirus rate in the north. The lowest rates are in Fermanagh and Omagh (46.2), Newry, Mourne and Down (62.2), Causeway Coast and Glens (63.8) and Ards and North Down (64).

Rates are higher in Mid Ulster (150.5), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (130.6), Mid and East Antrim (127.7), Belfast (119.9), Lisburn and Castlereagh (98.5) and Antrim and Newtownabbey (77.1).

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between February 22 and February 23 was 19.

In total 11,100 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
