Derry/Strabane COVID-19 case rate falls for third successive day

The seven-day coronavirus case rate per 100,000 has fallen in Derry/Strabane for the third successive day, the latest daily Department of Health data show.

Between December 30 and January 5, 1,013 cases were recorded across the Derry and Strabane council area giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 672.3.

This was down from rates of 734.1 yesterday, 738 cases on Monday, and 744 cases per 100,000 people on Sunday.

The average case rate for the north as a whole has also fallen over the past few days and is now stood at 645.4.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between January 4 and January 5 was 147.

In total 9,673 people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane
