Derry/Strabane COVID-19 rate falls for the fourth day running

The seven-day coronavirus case rate per 100,000 has fallen in Derry/Strabane for the fourth day running, the latest daily Department of Health update reveals.

Between December 31 and January 5, 912 cases were recorded across the Derry and Strabane council area giving a seven day rate per 100,000 of 605.3.

This was down from rates of 672.3 yesterday, 734.1 on Tuesday, 738 cases on Monday, and 744 cases per 100,000 people on Sunday.

The average case rate for the north as a whole has also fallen over the past few days and today is at 599.8 per 100,000.

The daily change in the cumulative number of patients with a positive test in Derry and Strabane between January 5 and January 6 was 101.

In total 9,774 Derry people have now tested positive for the illness in Derry and Strabane.
