These old photos from the archives of the Derry Journal feature some of the winners from Feis Doire Colmcille in the 1970s. The Feis is, of course, just about to celebrate its 100th birthday. It has always had a special place in the hearts of Derry people. Here’s to another 100!

1978... Brothers Brendan (on left) and Conor Donnelly, Lisnarea Avenue, Derry, who were prizewinners at Feis Doire Colmcille. Brendan was first in the Irish vocal solo (under 8) and first in the Irish verse-speaking (under 8). Conor was first in the recorder solo (under 10) and first in the Irish vocal solo (under 9).
