A fine introduction to the Emerald Isle, the city of Derry is the gateway to some of Ireland’s top attractions, including numerous beauty spots, historic sites, first class restaurants, pubs and shopping.

The spectacular views as you touch down on the runway of the riverside airport include patchwork quilts of farmers’ fields in Counties Derry on the eastern shore of the Foyle and the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal on the western shore.

Ryanair flies to and from Manchester to City of Derry Airport, while Loganair offers flights to and from London Stansted, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Derry Airport manager Steve Frazer recently told the Journal they are also hoping to secure new routes to Dublin, Newcastle and Birmingham. Watch this space….
