Abortion Debate: Police have received no formal complaints
The 1967 Abortion Act does not apply in the North of Ireland which makes the procurement and administration of the pills a criminal offence.
If anyone is found guilty of terminating a pregnancy is such a way they could be jailed for life.

Hide AdIn 2013, women from the Derry branch of ‘Alliance for Choice’, were amongst 100 women who signed a letter admitting to breaking the law.
In June 2015 more than 200 women and 30 men signed a similar letter admitting to the same.
“We are aware of these letters. Currently, no complaints have been made to police locally,” said a PSNI spokesperson.
“Police would remind the public not to take prescription drugs that have not been prescribed to them. The taking of any prescription drug has the potential to cause serious harm if used without appropriate medical supervision.”
