Mr Anderson was summoned to appear at the inquest late last year. In November 2013, Mr Anderson failed to give evidence in the case of 73-year-old Roseanne Mallon who was gunned down by the Loyalist Volunteer Force in Co Tyrone in 1994. The ex-RUC man cited ill health as the reason for not appearing.

However, Coroner Brian Sherrard had previously ruled that if Mr Anderson did not appear in the Arkinson case then documents he has in possession relevant to the proceedings should still be presented.
