Arsonists '˜substantially damage' Derry building

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of an arson that occurred at a residential premises on Elmwood Road in Derry.

Constable Marshall said: “It was reported sometime between Wednesday October 19 and Monday October 24 2016, an arson had taken place in a residential premises in the Elmwood Road area of the city on Monday afternoon. Substantial damage was caused to the inside of the vacant property. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 711 on 24/10/16. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
