Full file in case of Derry man accused of murdering Amy Doherty ready
The full file in the case of the man charged with the murder of Amy Doherty in Derry in March is now complete and is awaiting allocation to a prosecutor, the city’s Magistrate's Court has been told.
Conor McNamee (30) of Summer Meadow Mews in the Waterside area of Derry faces a charge of the murder of Amy Doherty on March 21 this year.
He is further charged with possessing an offensive weapon, namely a kitchen knife and possessing class A drugs on the same date.
The case was raised at the Magistrate’s Court in Derry on Thursday.

At the hearing, during which the defendant did not appear in person, a prosecutor told the court that the file was now complete and awaiting allocation to a prosecutor who will take the case forward.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that that was acceptable at this stage.
The case was adjourned until August 13 and McNamee remains in custody.
