A 22-year-old Derry man has been released after being questioned by police investigating violent republicanism.

The man was arrested following a search in the city on Monday.

According to the PSNI the search was conducted by detectives from its Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) who were investigating violent dissident republican activity.

He was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning but has now been released.

The PSNI said the man, who was arrested under the Terrorism Act, has been released following questioning. The investigation is ongoing.
